SUNEARTH’S CASCADE 2 SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEM RECEIVES ENERGY STAR® CERTIFICATION
Fontana, CA, March 30, 2022 – SunEarth, one of the most experienced solar thermal manufacturers in the world, announced its Cascade 2 Solar Water Heating System has received ENERGY STAR® certification.
ENERGY STAR, a joint program between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy, is a widely recognized energy-savings certification based on real-world data and user interaction with the products. For SunEarth, ENERGY STAR is a recognition of its products’ energy-saving and cost-efficient benefits for consumers.
“Providing Cascade 2 Solar Water Heating System with an energy star label enables consumers to identify a simple, affordable and cost-effective way to improve the energy efficiency of their hot water system,” said Adam Chrisman, SunEarth President.
Water heating is the second largest energy expense in your home, accounting for about 18% of your utility bill. According to the EPA, the average family spends more than $1,000 per year in water costs but can save more than $380 annually from ENERGY STAR certified appliances.
The Energy Cost Calculator is a great starting point when it comes to figuring out current energy costs, as this energy cost calculator designed as a screening tool that estimates a water heater's lifetime energy cost savings at various efficiency levels.
The SunEarth Cascade 2 Solar Water Heating System is not only an increase in efficiency, but it comes with a Solar Uniform Energy Factor (SUEF) of 99.
The energy factor (EF) indicates a water heater's overall energy efficiency based on the amount of hot water produced per unit of fuel consumed over a typical day. This includes the following:
- Recovery efficiency – how efficiently the heat from the energy source is transferred to the water
- Standby losses – the percentage of heat loss per hour from the stored water compared to the heat content of the water (water heaters with storage tanks)
- Cycling losses – the loss of heat as the water circulates through a water heater tank, and/or inlet and outlet pipes.
The higher the energy factor, the more efficient the water heater. Look at the SunEarth - C2-20T-30-TLG offering a SUEF OF 99!
“Comfort and energy efficiency are important topics and water heating plays a vital role in providing both for today’s homeowners,” said Amir Habibi, SunEarth Business Development. “Up to half of a home’s energy bill can be driven by heating and cooling costs, a little recognized fact. The Cascade 2 HWS helps homeowners cut utility bills.”
Earning the ENERGY STAR label means products meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, the Attachment Energy Rating Council has developed a rating system for both cool and warm climate zones.
