Responsible management of solar thermal collectors is a crucial part of providing green energy solutions for a better future. SunEarth believes in creating solar thermal products and components that are as sustainable as the clean thermal energy they produce.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR SOLAR THERMAL COLLECTOR RECYCLING?
The basis of SunEarth’s collector design allow for servicing manufactured with the environment in mind and thus allowing for complete recyclability. Comprised of commodity metals and glass, the SunEarth Liquid Flat Plate Collectors are equipped with the ability to have components separated and replaced or removed for easy recycling of the materials within, thus ensuring that all SunEarth Collectors offer the longest possible high-performing life span. As a basis of design, we strive to make our world as green as can be.
Determining which materials get a second life requires a deeper look at the recycling process. Solar thermal collectors are comprised mostly of copper and glass.
Glass is a commonly recycled material, and SunEarth understands that from time-to-time, the glass of the Solar Thermal Collector can break, be it from natural elements or mishandling of the collector. Which is why the glass can be replaced on a SunEarth collector. No need to replace the entire collector.
As found on Copper.org 'Copper is another commonly recycled material found in SunEarth collectors. Copper is infinitely recyclable. Copper, like virtually all metals, can be recycled over and over again without losing the properties that make it valuable and useful.' The only other material that can claim infinite recyclability is glass.
A FONTANA WAREHOUSE THAT CELEBRRATES SUSTAINABILITY
SunEarth believes that environmentally friendly practices go beyond providing clean energy solutions. Every step before and after a solar thermal collector is produced is crucial to maintaining social responsibility. SunEarth believes in helping the environment through eco-friendly sustainability initiatives, recycling, energy conservation and green practices.
Working with others, we aspire to reshape the way we work to achieve significant and lasting improvement in environmental and social outcomes, in a way that also improves our business. Our approach accelerates us towards our three aspirational goals: to create minimal waste, operate with 100% renewable energy and supply products that sustain our planets finite resources and the environment. We are using our strengths to not only further work in our own operations, but to also help create a more sustainable value chain.
Since our founding in 1978, a core precept of our mission has been to actively participate in the task of reducing America’s dangerous dependence on polluting fossil fuels.
SunEarth, for example, has supported the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Homes research initiative from its inception. Through the right combination of energy efficiency, solar water heating and on-site renewable generation such as PV, architects can design homes and buildings that are comfortable, affordable and nearly emission free.
SunEarth’s primary production facility is served by an 184kW photovoltaic array that provides all the required electrical energy for our offices, production equipment, and forklifts. The facility alsofeatures natural daylighting, T-5 lighting when necessary, waterless toilet fixtures and drought tolerant landscaping.
If your company believes in developing long-term business relationships with companies that invest in their values are, then we hope that you will consider joining SunEarth’s growing roster of OEM, distribution, and contractor partners.
